[Law and Jurisprudence During the Reformations and the Renaissance]
This volume presents 16 papers of the seminar on 'Law and Jurisprudence during the Reformations and the Renaissance', written by excellent young academics, and their Professors giving further historical background. The papers show the reforms beginning within the Church of Rome in the Late Middle Ages, leading to the Reformation by Luther and Melanchthon at Wittenberg, and going on with Müntzers social reforms for the peasants, the helvetic reformation by Calvin, who also was a representative in Anhalt. Other papers deal with the aspects of the reform of institutions as consistories, ordinances, the gender problem, the new studies of law and the rich ecclesiastical picture scene in the churches of Anhalt, Saxony, Thuringia, and Pomerania.
