Li, Yan
Dr Y. Li is a Professor at The Institute of Textiles and Clothing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. He is a Fellow of The Textile Institute, a member of several professional bodies and has more than 350 scientific publications and patents.

Yeung, K W
Yan Shen became a lecturer in international trade and trade-related law at Donghua University, China before moving to Hong Kong Polytechnic University as a research assistant under Dr. Li. She has participated in research into the World Trade Organisation and its possible effects on the textile industry.

Y Li graduated from The North-West Institute of Textile Science and Technology with a Beng in Textile Engineering in 1982 and an Msc in 1984. He gained his PhD in fibre/clothing science from the University of Leeds in 1988, followed by his MBA from the Macquarie University in 1996. With more than 230 scientific publications and 22 patent applications, he is a fellow of the Textile Institute, adjunct professor of three universities in China and a member of several professional bodies. He has won a number of awards for his research papers and scholarships and serves as a member of the editorial board for Clothing and Textiles Research journal.

L Yao is currently a research and development manager in a garment manufacturing company. She obtained her BSc from Zhejiang University in 1995. Since 1998, she has carried out research in the area of strategic development of “Fashion: Design and Technology Innovation”, which is funded by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She has published a series of research papers and books.

K W Yeung is currently Vice President of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. He has worked in the university for more than 29 years and has witnessed the dynamic changes that have taken place throughout his time there. He graduated in 1978 with his PhD in Textile chemistry from Queen's University Belfast.
