Ali Zafar is a macroeconomist with more than 20 years experience advising governments in sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia, and the Middle East. He is the author of The CFA Franc Zone: Economic Development and the Post-Covid Recovery (2021). He is head of the UNDP Development Policy Research Hub and Economic Advisor in Ethiopia.
