Huajie Yang, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Faculty of Innovation and Design at City University of Macau. He was a research assistant at the National Institute for Transportation and Communities (NITC), a U.S. Department of Transportation national university transportation center. Dr. Yang received his Ph.D. in Urban Studies from Portland State University, M.Eng. in Urban Planning and Design from Zhejiang University, and B.Sc. in Resources Environment and the Management of Urban and Rural Planning from Shanxi University. Dr. Yang’s research interests include land use and transportation planning and modeling, urban planning, and public health. His recent research focuses on the impact of the commuting on physical and mental wellbeing. Huajie has been involved in research projects funded by the Macao Foundation, the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund, the joint funding of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund, the joint funding of the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the Macau Science and Technology Development Fund, and the U.S. Department of Transportation.
