STANLEY I. WEISS, PhD, has served as a ConsultingProfessor at Stanford University since 2000. He earned his PhD intheoretical and applied mechanics at the University of Illinois andis a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at HarvardBusiness School. Dr. Weiss developed much of his research andpractice in the fields of product design and manufacturing at MITand Stanford and during thirty years in industry and government. Heis a past chairman and current advisory board member at theRensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Department of Mechanical,Aerospace, and Nuclear Engineering.
