We all have something to contribute to the world. It might be music, it might be art, or it might be something else entirely-but we're inspired by the things we experience. We are instruments that shape the world as we walk our life's path, inspiring generations after us to do the same.

Chapter 1

Open Canvas
There is an open space; time is standing still; and your ideas are rolling. You are ready to put something into action to fill the empty void and start your journey of creation. Open your mind to the possibilities. As your mind travels, you pass different topics, concepts, and styles until you find one that you are comfortable with. You anchor your mind here and begin down a road only few of us have traveled down. The road of artistic beginnings. Long hours are expected and carved out of the day or a series of days to buckle down and start a project. Your senses are open, your path is open, and your platform is clear. These canvases are open for you to fill up and manifest the ideas that have been bottled up in your head. An empty space of free area and time to generate a consistent workflow. Like a cup is empty until you fill it with something. Tangible…something to view, read, examine, research, touch, or feel, as feelings and emotions attach you to what you are creating. This means the reader or viewer will have an emotional reaction to what they are reading or watching. Can they relate to what you are creating? Does it make sense? As experiences pass down from one generation to the next, we as people go through different things at different times. In this open world filled with opportunity and promise, people are looking for ways to bring new ideas to life, searching for the next path to success. People may listen to the stories of successful people as they translate their experiences through DVDs, seminars, webinars, or in person as keynote speakers at industry events. Here again, it’s an open canvas of possibilities. Use your intuition to make things happen. The feel of longevity and importance to the world is another reason I create. A broader scope of reach and making a lasting connection with fans or other visionaries. What we create will be here even after we’re gone as human beings, so it is important to me at least to create something that will transcend into the next generation. They will have something strong to read, admire, watch, or be inspired from. I definitely want to pitch smoke all nine innings, meaning I’m here for the longevity of it, not just a couple of things. I create whatever I can—movies, video games, clothes, etc. I think entrepreneurship is the game and to be enterprising is the key. Be independent of anybody saying you can’t do something because nine times out of ten, that something is right there inside of you, waiting for you to unlock it and share it with the world. Leave your open mind free and ready to be fed ideas to get you started on your way. Think about all the things you like to do: dancing, singing, going out with friends, to wearing your favorite pair of shoes. Whatever it may be, this is where your open canvas will begin. Your why and reason, passion, all these things will connect, putting you in the driver’s seat strapped with your creativity and determination. Embark on your venture and don’t look back. Whatever it is, you can create it, whether it is adventurous, bold, sexy, funny, provocative, mysterious, or controversial. Mold your creation to fit what it is you are translating. Always be open to outside ideas when on your canvas. We want to connect with our audience, to appreciate them, and feel appreciated in return. The appreciation of craft is probably the best gift you can receive. Someone noticing or relating to the path you are on. They too have been on that same path. They can tell you have used your platform wisely. They are intrigued by what you’ve come up with after your months of building and crafting. All of a sudden, your finish product is ready to be out on display for viewing and observing. Whether you know it or not as a creator, people are paying attention, seeing what it is you are going to do next. A sea of spectators watching you on the open platform, field, court, etc. You as the visionary, you are ready to show the world what you are made of and what you are worth. Most of all, you feel a true feeling of novelty. I don’t know about you, but I crave it, thirst for it, breathe it, smell it, and am hungry for it. It has nothing to do with fame; it’s the dedication to your craft and the appreciation others give it. Yes, the balance beam act of balancing time and space, family and friends is rough sometimes, but you are doing this for a good purpose. Responsibilities come first, then play hard later. Give yourself the necessary space to start your work. Before too many ideas begin to flood your canvas. Pick one idea or one venture, coming full circle to evolve. Get your friends’ feedback and input. It’s always good when you can make the lives of people around you better, not bitter. People tend to think it’s not worth it or it’s too Hard, but really it’s all on you—what you want to see, what you feel, and how you want people to feel when they see, hear, feel, or view your work. If you are too materialistic, you become a small mind in a huge world. Expand. Quickly. Ignore the negativity; it is pretty much on the sidelines and you are frontline in your own picture. Say what you want to say, I’m a creator and that’s what I do and I stand on that. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, and three hundred sixty-five days a year. It’s not ego; it’s drive, adrenaline, faith, and creative work ethic. Plus staying on top of things because distractions are not good; they can waste a lot of time—time you don’t have and can’t get back. Keep going though, and you’ll discover your own path of prosperity and novelty. Free flying is another area of creation. To me, being a writer is a continuous motion. I think what makes sense, and then I write it down; I know that it has to make literary sense to the reader. Their eyes are the last ones that will see your work as an author. They start to enjoy what you are writing; what you are getting across will start to flow with their imagination. What I write in this chapter must compel and motivate the reader to keep reading, and must develop a high level of interest in the material. Think of it as your mind being the canvas. Keep your thoughts blank and free to allow room for new developments. As long as your mind is free and open, you can mentally travel anywhere. When you mind travels, you envision what you want to create; then you do what you see. For example, you are looking at a bag of chips in the store. Your mind is telling you that you want some chips to eat. A few minutes later, you purchase them and start eating. It’s a certain discipline of the mind to encourage you to take action about what it is you do. Your creativity has to have a source. This is your initial drive to keep going. A smooth and progressive workflow to get the job done. Imagine something pushing you faster toward your goals and you know you are going to reach them. Since you are creating, your foundation will be blank in the beginning, blank like a piece of paper before you start writing on it. You assess the terrain and dig in to what it is you are creating. Your career is what you may be thinking of now. Making a profit isn’t a bad thing; we all got them bills to pay. Step into your serious side so people can take you seriously. Opportunities will open up to you as long as you make yourself available; being free in your schedule is key. So keeping, a person that’s dedicated will do what they love. Explore the world’s opportunities; you will find some of them fit you and others do not. You may find certain things you like along the way that you want to implement in your everyday life or even into your work. Continue being productive in your field; tap into this empty void that is your space to create. A form of expression that only you can unlock. What appears can only be done by your doing. If you start to have mental blocks, navigate through your thoughts and find why that may be happening; find them and subtract them from your life. They only slow you down and keep you from achieving your goals. Amazingly enough, we have an amazing amount of willpower as human beings, which drives us forward. Stay professional, and keep a positive, progressive attitude about yourself and others. Someone is always paying attention—that’s the mindset you have to keep every day in the business. In this open canvas, anything is possible. As we continue in this journey as writers, artists, visionaries, etc., there are trials and tribulations we all face throughout life and in our careers. Stay strong and keep moving. If you encounter any pitfalls, use your cerebral to maneuver around them, maintaining your stride. I say even in failure you still succeeded because you learned, if anything, and gained more wisdom about yourself, your craft, and what to do in the next round. Figure out new ways to reinvent yourself and bring new innovations to the world, each different in its own way. Ask yourself what free space means to you and why it’s important to bring a free mind into your workspace, workflow environment. Time, I know, is always a factor. Sometimes it can be on your side, sometimes the complete opposite. It’s up to you to balance it and manage it in a way that it benefits you. Keep up the grind using your time wisely because we don’t get these minutes back; we have to cherish each second, so it seems. We are good for it though. Hell, we are visionaries with sight that surpasses even our wildest dreams. So I say, dream on. You never know what might come true. We define our meaning of life and the world every day we wake up. To give, to breath, to love our craft. Stay passionate about creating your work and others will flock to you automatically. It’s magnetism at its finest. It’s swirling around, bringing other positive artists and visionaries into your circle. You are...
