The author takes it for granted that the major New England transcendentalists were writers of utmost literary significance and so focuses thoroughly on their extremely rich and many-sided poetic discourse. Albena Bakratcheva is Professor of American Literature at New Bulgarian University, Sofia, Bulgaria. She is member of The Thoreau Society U.S.A. and Executive Council member of the International American Studies Association (IASA).
