Jason Edward Black is Chair of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is coauthor of Mascot Nation: TheControversy over Native American Representations in Sports and the author of American Indians and the Rhetoric of Removal and Allotment. He is coeditor of Decolonizing Native American Rhetoric: Communicating Self-Determination and An Archive of Hope: Harvey Milk's Speeches and Writings.
Kathleen J. Turner is Professor Emerita in the Department of Communication Studies at Davidson College. She studies communication as a process of social influence, particularly concerning media, politics, popular culture, and women’s issues. She is the author of Lyndon Johnson's Dual War: Vietnam and the Press and editor of Doing Rhetorical History.
