This is the second of two volumes presenting the results of the
Melbourne archaeological project at Pessinus in Central Anatolia,
believed to be the site of a shrine to Cybele, the Great Mother Goddess
of Anatolia. The dozen chapters, all by team members, focus on the
achievements of the 2009-2013 Pessinus field seasons: an overview, the
pre-Hellenistic remains, the fortifications, a survey of Pessinus and
its periphery, geophysics, pottery, coins, 'wool basket' stelai, church
architectural stones, new inscriptions and new doorstones, concluding
with a detailed report on the 2013 season (the last in the field before
the project's abrupt and premature cessation).
