Frank Lloyd Wright (1867–1959) exercised a shaping influence on architectural history throughout the world as only very few other architects beside him have done. His structures – developed from landscape, program, material, and construction – are highly individual and independent of the stylistic developments of modern architecture. Daniel Treiber has been teaching design and architectural history for twenty-five years. Since 2002 he has done so in the context of a Design Chair at the École d’architecture in Lille. He is also the director of the advisory board for the national training of architects in France.
