The book offers studies on different aspects of the life, activity, and written works of Roberto da Lecce, one of the most famous preachers of fifteenth-century Italy. His sermons were read and re-used throughout Europe, contributing to shaping the shared religious culture. The nine authors of this book have addressed this polyhedric figure from ten different perspectives.

Giacomo Mariani, Ph.D. (2019), is a historian interested in late medieval and early modern Italy. He has published the book Roberto Caracciolo da Lecce (1425-1495). Life, Works, and Fame of a Renaissance Preacher (Brill, 2022).

Steven J. McMichael, OFM Conv., is an Associate Professor of Theology at the University of Saint Thomas (Saint Paul, Minnesota). He has recently published Mary Magdalene in the Medieval Franciscan Spirituality: Beloved Disciple and Apostle of the Apostles (Franciscan Institute Publications, 2022).
