Dr Tewary has completed four years of obstetrics and gynaecology training, passing her MRCOG examination in May 2015. She is currently working as a Clinical Research Fellow at The University of Warwick doing research looking at the link between stem cells and recurrent miscarriage, and will also be carrying out an M.D degree in this time. Dr Tewary is involved in teaching medical students on a weekly basis and enjoys teaching junior doctors studying for their Part 1 and Part 2 MRCOG examinations. She is also helping on an OSCE course at Whipps Cross Hospital for candidates sitting the Part 2 MRCOG exams.
Dr M A Akhtar works at St Mary’s Hospital, Manchester as Consultant Gynaecologist, Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. He completed his speciality training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Mersey Deanery and his sub speciality training in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at North West Deanery. He achieved his post graduate Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree at University of Warwick. Dr Akhtar has presented in national and international conferences and published many articles in peer reviewed journals as well as several Cochrane reviews. He has also written an MCQs for MRCOG Part 2 book and many book chapters. Dr Akhtar is involved in Teaching (under graduate and postgraduate) and is a facilitator for MRCOG part 2 and OSCE course run by Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. He is a facilitator for the RCOG Basic Practical Skills course, he worked as Secretary General for Pakistan Liaison group at RCOG and is a trainer for British Fertility Society courses.
