Mustafa Koç is a professor in the Department of Sociology at Ryerson University. He was among the founders of the Centre for Studies in Food Security, was the chair of Food Secure Canada from 2005-2006, and was president of the Canadian Association for Food Studies from 2005-2008. His research and teaching interests are food studies, food security and food policy, globalization, and the sociology of migration. He has also been involved in various national and global debates on globalization, social change and development, food security, and peace.

Jennifer Sumner is an assistant professor in the Department of Leadership, Higher and Adult Education at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) at the University of Toronto. She is also the Director of the Certificate Program in Adult Education for Sustainability. Her research and teaching interests include food studies, sustainable food systems and the political economy of food, as well as globalization, sustainability, and organic agriculture.

Anthony Winson is a professor in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at the University of Guelph. He has been writing on agriculture, food, and rural development issues related to Canada and the developing world for more than twenty years.
