Thermodynamics for Chemical Engineering

A Process Approach

Buch, Englisch, 214 Seiten, Format (B × H): 156 mm x 234 mm

ISBN: 978-1-4987-4762-2
Verlag: Taylor & Francis Inc

Teaching thermodynamics in a logical but approachable manner in the context of modern process industries, this text specifically targets important keystone concepts to ensure a strong foundation in the subject. Focus on mathematics is eschewed, and instead the physical basis of thermodynamics is emphasised. The book provides many industrially relevant worked examples and recognises the will of accrediting institutions by covering safety and design.
This book is of interest to chemical engineering students studying thermodynamics as well as researchers and industry professionals looking to consolidate their knowledge of this vital field to chemical engineering practice.

Paul Stevenson is Lecturer in Chemical Engineering at the University of Hull and has MA, MEng (double-first class honours) and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK. He has teaching experience at the Universities of Cambridge, Newcastle (Australia) and Auckland, the latter at which he developed a course in ‘Engineering Thermodynamics’ which will form the basis of much of the proposed text book. At the University of Hull, he has developed and leads the inaugural course in Chemical Process Design. Stevenson is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
