Being the first part of a two-volume anthology, state memory narratives and their public reception as well as museums, memorials and monuments as controversial objects of cultural memory provide focus for this volume’s twelve chapters, while the contributions in the sequel edition concentrate on tabooization and competing narratives as well as on location-dependent and personal-related remembrance of the Second World War in post-socialist Europe.

Über Autor(innen)

Paul Srodecki holds a PhD from Gießen University and has been working as a visiting and assistant professor as well as a research associate at various universities in Germany, Poland, Czechia and Denmark. He has published several treatises on identity, alterity and alienity discourses as well as historical deconstruction.
Daria Kozlova is research assistant at the Historical Department of the Flossenbürg Concentration Camp Memorial, Germany.
