DR. BRIAN SIMMONS is a passionate lover of God. With his wife, Candice, and their three children, he spent eight years in the tropical rain forest of the Darien Province of Panama as a church planter, translator, and consultant. Having been trained in linguistics and Bible translation principles, Brian assisted in the Paya-Kuna New Testament translation project. After his ministry overseas, Brian was instrumental in planting a thriving church in New England (U.S.) and currently travels full time as a speaker and Bible teacher. JANUARY 1

Hold to the vision.

As time passes, I remain the same. I am constant in love, steadfast in truth, and loyal in pursuit. Nothing can alter my character—no situation can affect my compassion. I will transform every hardship with the flood of my love. Remember what I spoke to you in the beginning when you first heard my voice. My promises are true, and I will never let you down.

Have the winds of change confused your senses? Lean into my love today, and you will find that the plumb line of my mercy will make everything come into alignment once again. Though seasons shift and unknowns are inevitable, nothing is a mystery to me. Realign your heart with mine. Let trust be the rhythm that centers you through your every breath. When your mind is flooded with information that distracts, come back to the foundation of your very being. I am the God who created you, and I have not wavered from my intentions. Fill your mind with my Word, and you will find that peace will guide you. Fix your eyes on my goodness, and you will see it all around you.

When there is no clear prophetic vision,

people quickly wander astray.

But when you follow the revelation of the word,

heaven’s bliss fills your soul.

PROVERBS 29:18

JANUARY 2

I am your portion.

Beloved, what do you need today? I have given you access to my kingdom where there is abundance for all who seek it. You have only to look to me, and I will fill you with more than you could ever imagine. I will never hesitate to lead you into my love. Where there are troubles, they will not overtake you. I am your good and faithful Father, and I won’t let the difficulties you face overcome you. I will deliver you from the trap of the enemy. I will supply you with all you need in every moment.

Turn to me today and find yourself enveloped in my kindness. My delight is your gift, and I never tire of pouring it out over you. Don’t stay away for fear that I will judge you harshly. You are my beloved child, and even my correction is laced with compassion. Don’t be discouraged by the news you hear or the questions that remain unanswered in your life. Drink deeply of my unchanging joy and feast on my lavish love. I am your portion today and always.

Because of their faith in him,

their daily portion will be

a Father’s help and deliverance from evil.

This is true for all who turn to hide themselves in him!

PSALM 37:40

JANUARY 3

You have access to more.

Let the gratitude of your heart lead you into the pursuit of more wisdom and revelation. I have so much to share with you. As you become more acquainted with my ways, you will transform into the likeness of my love. There is no shortage of revelation. What astounded you yesterday may seem commonplace today, but don’t forget that I am full of truth and wisdom. The light of my understanding will make even the most mundane realities seem impossibly good.

Do not be tempted by the mentality that you have been blessed with enough and that you should feel content with what you have for fear that others will miss out. My kingdom works in a different way; there is more than enough for everyone. When you consume freely from my table of wisdom and revelation, there is more to offer others. Keep feeding the hunger of your heart by partaking in what I offer to you. Your capacity for understanding will grow as you continually listen and look with an open heart to receive. Press in and seek me out. I promise that you will find me. I’m right here!

Everyone who listens with an open heart

will receive progressively more revelation

until he has more than enough.

MATTHEW 13:12

JANUARY 4

My ways are better.

My child, as long as you have been drawing breath, I have seen your growth in every stage of your development. When you took your first steps, I was as proud as your parent who coaxed you. I have delighted when you discovered new ways to think about things. Who does not take joy in their children who grow into their own?

Yet what brings me even more joy is when you listen to my words of wisdom and heed my advice. They are neither empty nor do they seek to control or hem you in. I see from a different vantage point. My eyes take in every detail and the grand scope of your life as well as how it connects to those around you. I have good, good plans for you. I will not lead you somewhere I have not already gone. I am always with you. Though you cannot comprehend the enormity of my love, it is your covering all the days of your life. Spend time tuning in to my heart today. What you find will elevate your own thinking. Do you want to stay the same, or would you like to venture into new revelations today?

As high as the heavens are above the earth,

so my ways and my thoughts are higher than yours.

ISAIAH 55:9

JANUARY 5

I see it all.

Beloved, I see you clearly just as you are. I see the circumstances that are outside of your control and the troubles knocking at your door. I see the way your heart is overwhelmed. Do not despair and don’t lose hope. I am always close. I will bring you through this; you can count on me. When you are afraid, put your hope in me, and when you struggle to hope, look outside of your own experience to the fulfilled promises of my people.

I won’t let the weight of the unknown crush you. I am not disinterested in your plight, my daughter. I will meet your needs. Look at the way that I have come through time and again. I have not suddenly turned my gaze from my people. When the waters rise around you, I am your high place—your security in the storm. Worry won’t help you. Whatever it is that threatens your peace, give it to me. I will surround you with the blanket of my perfect peace, wrapping you up in the comfort of my love. Come in close and rest in my steadiness. I am for you, and I will work all things together with redemptive love for your benefit.

He will not ignore forever all the needs of the poor,

for those in need shall not always be crushed.

Their hopes shall be fulfilled, for God sees it all!

PSALM 9:18

JANUARY 6

Plant seeds of peace.

The way of wisdom is the pathway of peace. If you follow me, I will guide you along the route that leads to abundant, everlasting life. When you choose to humble yourself before others, I become your Advocate and mighty Defender. Where there is striving, let there be confident rest. You don’t need to fight for yourself or make your name great. I will raise up the humble and endorse those who promote peace.

Let the ears of your heart be open to my wisdom. Lean into my ways of living. My kingdom does not look like the nations of this world. Where there are wars and battles, they will cease. Chaos and confusion mark the world’s ways, but harmony defines my kingdom. When you sow peace, you will reap an eternal reward. Reflect my kindness, and the world will see that you belong to the higher way, where the law of love supersedes everything. As it has been done for you, so do for others. Choose harmony over discord and unity over selfish ambition. Choose mercy instead of vengeance, letting my love flood your heart. As you pour my mercy on others, you will find that your own peace increases.

Good seeds of wisdom’s fruit will be planted with peaceful acts

by those who cherish making peace.

JAMES 3:18

JANUARY 7

I am never late.

Have you grown weary of waiting on me? Don’t be discouraged, daughter. I am not late. Though my timing may not make sense to you, it takes into account more than what you can see with your limited perspective.

I have always been faithful, and my character remains unchanged. Where there is worry, give it over to me. Let me breathe courage into your spirit today. Lean on me, for you can trust my intentions for your life. I am for you, and I have not abandoned you. When you see how I work all of this out for your benefit, you will understand that even a moment of worry was wasted. Rest in my faithfulness today. Meditate on my goodness. Turn your powerlessness into praise and see how your heart shifts toward trust. Do not believe those who have said that I have forgotten my people; I am still at work. Though it has been under the surface, soon you will see my power displayed before your very eyes. You can count on me to come through for you.

Say to the anxious and fearful,

“Be strong and never afraid.

Look, here comes your God!

He is breaking through to give you victory!

He comes to avenge your enemies.

With divine retribution he comes to save you!”

ISAIAH 35:4

JANUARY 8

Keep doing good.

I have declared you clean in my sight. There is nothing you need to do for me to accept you. I have welcomed you with wide-open arms. My Father-heart loves to embrace you, my child. I see how you long to reflect my goodness in your life. Don’t give up on your pursuits. When you reach out to others with a heart of love, you are reflecting my life at work within you.

You have received unending measures of grace, so do not hesitate to offer it to others. When you extend mercy, you extend my heart to others. I love when you choose to partner with my compassion. Keep doing it because you can find more delight in serving those around you than by collecting temporary treasures for...
