Jack Sidnell is Associate Professor of Anthropology atthe University of Toronto, Canada. He is the author of Talk andPractical Epistemology: The Social Life of Knowledge in a CaribbeanCommunity (2005), the editor of Conversation Analysis:Comparative Perspectives (2009) and the author ofConversation Analysis: An Introduction (2009).
Tanya Stivers is Associate Professor of Sociology at theUniversity of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She is the author ofPrescribing Under Pressure: Parent-Physician Conversations andAntibiotics (2007), and co-editor of Person Reference inInteraction: Linguistic, Cultural and Social Perspectives (withN. Enfield, 2007), and of The Morality of Knowledge inConversation (with L. Mondada and J. Steensig, 2010).
