This study provides an up-to-date empirical account of Chinese female judges within the context of the Chinese legal system and wider society, revealing a deeper understanding of women in contemporary China. Her research focus is in the areas of organised crime, gender, youth, crime and justice, the legal profession, judicial culture, and migration and crime. She is author of Offending Women in Contemporary China: Gender and Pathways into Crime (Palgrave, 2015).
