MOHAMMAD SHAHIDEHPOUR, PhD, is a professor in the Electrical andComputer Engineering Department and Director of the Electric Powerand Power Electronics Center at the Illinois Institute ofTechnology, where he has served in various administrativepositions, including Dean of the Graduate College and AssociateVice President for research. He has over twenty years of experienceas a consultant to the electric power industry. He is the author ofmore than 250 technical papers as well as three books on powersystem optimization and energy scheduling. Dr. Shahidehpour is aFellow of IEEE.
YAOYU WANG, PhD, is a senior research scientist in the ElectricPower and Power Electronics Center at the Illinois Institute ofTechnology. He has twelve years of industrial and academicexperience in power systems computation, optimization, and control;power market analysis; and EMS/DMS applications, development, andintegration. He was a recipient of a research fellowship from theJapan Society for the Promotion of Science, and was a guestresearch scientist of Germany's Alexander von HumboldtFoundation. Dr. Wang is a Senior Member of IEEE.
