'Digital Culture & Society' is a refereed, international journal, fostering discussion about the ways in which digital technologies, platforms and applications reconfigure daily lives and practices. It offers a forum for critical analysis and inquiry into digital media theory. The journal provides a venue for publication for interdisciplinary research approaches, contemporary theory developments and methodological innovation in digital media studies. It invites reflection on how culture unfolds through the use of digital technology, and how it conversely influences the development of digital technology itself.

The inaugural issue 'Digital Material/ism' presents methodological and theoretical insights into digital materiality and materialism.

Fuchs, Mathias
Mathias Fuchs (Dr.) ist ein Künstler und Medienwissenschaftler. Er war u.a. Senior Lecturer an der University of Salford in Greater Manchester, Vertretungsprofessor an der Universität Potsdam und Senior Fellow am Institute of Advanced Study on Media Cultures of Computer Simulation (MECS). Fuchs arbeitet am Institut für Kultur und Ästhetik Digitaler Medien an der Leuphana-Universität Lüneburg. Fuchs hat im Feld der künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit Computerspielen und deren Theorie Pionierarbeit geleistet und leitet ein DFG-gefördertes Projekt zu Gamification (2018-2021).

Annika Richterich (Dr.) is an assistant professor in Digital Culture at Maastricht University (Netherlands).

Abend, Pablo
Pablo Abend (Dr.) ist wissenschaftlicher Koordinator des DFG-Graduiertenkollegs 'Locating Media' an der Universität Siegen. Seit April 2019 vertritt er die Professur für Designtheorie an der Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle (Saale).

Karin Wenz (Dr.) is an assistant professor of Media Culture at Maastricht University, Netherlands, and director of studies of the MA Media Culture.

Reichert, Ramón
Ramón Reichert, Dr., ist Senior Researcher am Department für Kulturwissenschaft, Universität für Angewandte Kunst in Wien.

Ramón Reichert (Dr. phil.) works as a European project researcher at the University of Lancaster within the Erasmus+ program. He is the program director of the M.Sc. Data Studies at Danube University Krems, Austria. He is a lecturer at the Department of Communication and Media Research at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland, and a lecturer in Contextual Studies at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland.
Annika Richterich (Dr.) is an assistant professor in Digital Culture at Maastricht University (Netherlands).
Pablo Abend (PhD) is the scientific coordinator of the Research School 'Locating Media' at the University of Siegen. He is interested in geomedia, situated methodologies, participatory culture, and Science and Technology Studies.
Mathias Fuchs (Dr.) is an artist, musician and media scholar. He is the director of the Gamification Lab at Leuphana University in Lüneburg. He is a pioneer in the field of game art and is a leading scholar in game studies and directs a project on Gamification that is funded by the German Research Council (2018-2021).
Karin Wenz (Dr.) is an assistant professor of Media Culture at Maastricht University, Netherlands, and director of studies of the MA Media Culture.
