VALERIE PURTON is Reader in Victorian Literature at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, UK, and is a member of both the Publications Board and the Executive Committee of the Tennyson Society. She has recently edited the and has co-authored, with Christopher Sturman, a book on the poetry of Tennyson's father and uncle.

NORMAN PAGE is Professor Emeritus of the University of Nottingham, UK. He is an Honorary Vice-President of the Tennyson Society and was formally Chair of the Society's Publications Board. He is the author of (1983) and (1992), and has written many books on nineteenth- and twentieth-century literature.
