Asis Patnaik is the Head of the Clothing and Textile Technology Department at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), Cape Town, South Africa. He is actively involved in the teaching, research and development of fibre-based materials suitable for the manufacturing, automotive, medical, building, and footwear industries. He is the recipient of several international awards including Textile Institutes Outstanding Young Scientist Paper Award in 2008, Outstanding Contribution by an Individual award by the CSIR, South Africa in 2013, as well as Teaching Leader Award in 2024, from CPUT Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment.

Sweta Patnaik is Associate Professor and Curriculum Officer in the Department of Clothing and Textile Technology at CPUT, Cape Town, South Africa. With extensive experience in teaching, learning, and curriculum development, she has led qualifications from undergraduate to PhD level. Her research focuses on sustainability, waste management, entrepreneurship, e-learning, and supply chain management, with both national and international publications. Prof. Patnaik has received multiple awards, including the Nelson Mandela University Rising Star Award and DAAD UNILEAD scholarship. She serves on the editorial board of a leading journal and is a member of ISO’s national standards committee. Her work has earned her various institutional and international awards.
