Within much contemporary feminist theory there is a tendency to forget or ignore its own historicity and consider itself as primarily oriented towards the present. Ingeborg W. Owesen is Senior Adviser and Coordinator for the Research Council of Norway and co-author of The History of Gender Equality in Norway 1814–2013. She holds a PhD in philosophy.
