Olmsted, Frederick Law
Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-1903) is considered to be the father of landscape architecture. He was an American landscape architect, journalist, social critic, and public administrator.

Charles E. Beveridge (ALEXANDRIA, VA) is the leading Olmsted authority in the country and the series editor of The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted. David Schuyler is a professor of American studies at Franklin and Marshall College. He is the author of The New Urban Landscape: The Redefinition of City Form in Nineteenth-Century America and coeditor of three volumes of the The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted. Jane Turner Censer is the coeditor of Volume's 4 and 6 of The Papers of Frederick Law Olmsted.
