Akbar Noman is senior fellow at the Initiative for Policy Dialogue and adjunct professor of international and public affairs at Columbia University. He is coeditor, with Joseph E. Stiglitz, of Industrial Policy and Economic Transformation in Africa (Columbia, 2015).
