This book covers the basic concepts and case studies in structural geology and tecton ics. This book covers pl ate margins and plate interiors, varied rock types and rocks of different ages. It also includes structural geological field examples of deformed rock s. The book is helpful for researchers and professionals working in the area of geology. It will also be useful for the geologists to conduct and support their geological field training programs.

Prof. Soumyajit Mukherjee (IIT Bombay) has published 23 books with reputed publishers and special volumes and more than 150 research papers. He presently works as an Associate Editor in several international journals. He teaches structural geology to M.Sc. applied geology and applied geophysics students in terms of fieldwork, theory studies and practical classes. He also teaches M.Tech. students advanced methods of structural geology. His teaching experience as a faculty member spans a total of 16+ years. His research interest is mainly ductile shear zones and collisional zone kinematics. He has worked in diverse terrains and tectonic regimes and on rock types in India and Bangladesh.
