This first volume of the ""Savage Frontier"" series is a comprehensive account of the formative years of the legendary Texas Rangers. Stephen L. STEPHEN L. MOORE is a sixth-generation Texan and author of volumes two and three of the Savage Frontier series covering the years 1838-39 and 1840-41. He is also the author of Eighteen Minutes: The Battle of San Jacinto and the Texas Independence Campaign. He lives in Lantana, Texas.
