Dr. J. Ernesto Molina is a native of Guatemala. He graduated from Medical School at the Universidad de San Carlos de Borromeo in Guatemala Summa Cum Laude, receiving the Gold Medal “Flores Award” for his Graduate Thesis. He was Resident and Instructor of Surgery at University Hospital in Guatemala and Recipient of the German Scholarship from the Deutscher Akademisher Austaushdienst at the University of Düsseldorf. He completed his Surgery Residency in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery along with Training in Cardiac Pathology and Physiology and a Ph.D. in Surgery from the University of Minnesota. He is currently Full Professor of Surgery and Emeritus Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.
