Although nearly every other television form or genre has undergone a massive critical and popular reassessment or resurgence in the past twenty years, the game show’s reputation has remained both remarkably stagnant and remarkably low. Mike Miley teaches literature at Metairie Park Country Day School and film studies at Loyola University New Orleans. His work has appeared in TheAtlantic.com, Bright Lights Film Journal, Critique, Music and the Moving Image, The Smart Set, and elsewhere. While he has never appeared on a game show, he has dominated many a trivia night.
