Thomas H. Marwick, MBBS, PhD
Tom Marwick has been involved in cardiac imaging research for over20 years, over which time he has published over 300 papers and 5books, and held over 50 research grants. His main current interestsare in myocardial tissue characterization and the quantification ofmyocardial function, ventriculo-arterial interaction and studies ofhow cardiac imaging techniques can influence patient outcomes andcost-effectiveness of care. His work has been widely recognizednationally and internationally, with awards from the NationalHealth and Medical Research Council and the Cardiac Society ofAustralia and New Zealand, and National Heart Foundation ofAustralia, and invitations to present named lectures at theAmerican Society of Echocardiography (Feigenbaum Lecture 2003) andEuropean Association of Echocardiography (EuroEcho Lecture 2004).Dr Marwick is strongly committed to undergraduate and postgraduateteaching, and has been an invited speaker at most major Cardiologymeetings over the last 15 years.

Dr. Jing Ping Sun was full professor and Chief of Cardiology formore than 20 years in a top hospital in Beijing China. She haspublished more than 120 papers and 8 books worldwide. She held manyleadership positions while in the Peoples Republic of China. Sinceher immigration to the United States her academic career hasflourished. Her research activities at the Cleveland ClinicFoundation have been exceptional and recognized by multiplepublications in the leading cardiology journals. She has presentedabstracts of important observations at all the major cardiologyscientific sessions in the United States and has been an invitedspeaker at international meetings. Her expertise isechocardiography is evident not only by her publications but alsoby her special contract work for important clinical trails whereechocardiography has been a key aspect of the investigations.
She was the first Chinese Doctor selected as International Fellowof America College of Cardiology (FACC) and International Fellow,Council on Clinical Cardiology of American Heart Association(FAHA).
