[Power of Interpretation in Times of Crisis]
In recent years, a mode of crisis has become the norm. The financial crisis, the refugee crisis, the Covid-19 crisis, the global crisis of democracy ;there seems to be a consensus that the problems they refer to are acute. Opinions differ, though, concerning how to interpret these crises and how best to address them. And because there is constant increased pressure to act in the event of a crisis, there is an increased intensification and polarization of public debates. These debates are nothing other than struggles for the power of interpretation, in which populists and conspiracy theorists also like to participate.
This volume brings together contributions from theological sub-disciplines and from non-theological sciences. Contemporary discourses on the interpretation of crisis are reflected upon from various scholarly perspectives.
