This section allows someone with a rudimentary knowledgein general statistics to apply the methods. The Theoryprovides the motivation, theory and results of simulationexperiments to justify the methodology.
This is a coherent introduction to the statistical conceptsrequired to understand the authors' thesis that evidence in atest statistic can often be calibrated when transformed to theright scale.
