This edited volume is a political and comparative history of environmentalism and environmental policy in the communist and capitalist worlds during the Cold War year. It deals with several different national and transnational contexts throughout the length and breadth of the Cold War. In the decades after 1945, as the Cold War developed, the societal, civic, and governmental contexts of the East and the West showed some differences but also some commonalities.
