Epithelial cells are unique; they differentiate, have polarity, maintain cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions etc. Methods to isolate, culture and study epithelial cells are also different. Seema Khurana is a Professor in the Department of Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Houston. He is the author or coauthor of dozens of peer reviewed journal articles. He also edited a volume in the Advances in Molecular and Cell Biology book series devoted to the cytoskeleton.
