[Molds of Worship Design. The Agenda of the VELKD Between New Beginnings and Restoration]
Since the 1950s, the agendas of the United Evangelical-Lutheran Church of Germany (VELKD) have shaped the worship services on Sunday, pastoral acts and smaller forms of worship up to children's worship. They offered molds for the design of services and were seen by some as appropriate new start, others as bulwark of restoration, which contributed to the solidification of the Protestant worship practice and could only be broken up through the 'new forms of worship'. The contributions in this book offer a historical classification of the VELKD's agenda and discuss its theological, liturgical, but also lifeworld, psychological and cultural significance.
This volume is dedicated to Klaus Raschzok on his retirement as professor for Practical Theology at the Augustana Theological Seminary Neuendettelsau.
