Anand Baskar received his B.E. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering in 2001 from Government College of Engineering, Tirunelveli and M.E. in Power Systems Engineering from Annamalai University in 2002, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Anna University, Chennai, in 2011. Since 2003, he has been associated with Hindusthan College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. Currently he is working as a Professor and Head, Department of Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering in the same institution. He is the Chair of the annual IEEE – International Conference on Sustainable Computing and Smart Systems (ICSCSS) being organized by this institution. He received a research grant for a solar-related project from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), Government of India, as an ongoing research work. His research interests include electrical power system operation, control, optimization, and application of AI in power system problems. He has published more than 140 papers in national/international journals and conferences. He is an active member of IEEE, SSI, ISTE, and a Fellow in IE(I).
Kanendra Naidu is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Malaysia. He holds both an M.Eng.Sc. and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Malaya. His research focuses on artificial intelligence applications in power systems, including areas such as load frequency control, energy management systems, virtual power plants, and electric vehicle integration. He has authored over 60 publications in esteemed journals like the International Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems, IET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, and IEEE Access, amassing more than 2,602 citations with an h-index of 22. He has led and collaborated on various research projects, notably the development of Virtual Power Plants (VPP) for frequency control ancillary services, modeling of electric vehicle (EV) charging patterns integrating photovoltaic-based stations, and a project on multi-energy ship microgrids. Beyond academia, he consults on initiatives related to EV battery recycling, EVSE scheduling, and energy storage systems.
