The latest volume of "Studien zur Archäologie in Ostmitteleuropa/Studia nad Pradziejami Europy Srodkowej" series continues the on-going discussion on the subject of defensive settlements dating to the first half of the 2nd millennium BC in Europe. Papers included in the volume touch upon, in particular, the aspects of trade, contact and goods exchange occurring among Bronze Age societies. The volume investigates the role of defensive settlements in creating and maintaining a complex interregional and intercultural network of relations reaching from the Baltic Sea up to the Mediterranean.
