Polyimides for Biomedicine provides a thorough and systematic review of polyimides (PIs) and their expanding role in biomedical applications. Recognized for their superior engineering qualities, PIs are increasingly utilized beyond traditional industries such as aviation, aerospace, and microelectronics. This book investigates how polyimides serve as critical materials in biomedicine, from substrates used in cell culture to biosensor membranes and medical tubing. By focusing on the unique synthesis and properties of PIs, the text bridges the gap between engineering materials and medical innovation, making it an essential resource for researchers seeking advanced solutions in healthcare.

In addition to exploring the biomedical uses of polyimides, the book emphasizes their exceptional thermal stability, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance, which are crucial for demanding medical environments. It delves into the relationship between PI molecular structure and performance, offering insights into how these materials can be tailored for specific medical applications.
