»Die gemeinsame Verantwortung für den Dienst der Kirche verbindet zu einer Dienstgemeinschaft und verpflichtet zu vertrauensvoller Zusammenarbeit«, so heißt es in der Präambel des Mitarbeitendenvertretungsgesetzes (MVG). Der Dienstgemeinschaftsbegriff dient dabei als Scharnierbegriff für Diakonie und Kirche, steht für Hierarchiekritik, Gemeinschaft und ein eigenes Arbeitsrecht. Dieser vielseitige Begriff ist heute jedoch kaum noch anschlussfähig. Damit das Konzept neu an Relevanz gewinnt, gilt es Dienstgemeinschaft weniger als Anspruch, sondern als Zuspruch an die Mitarbeitenden zu deuten. Demnach sind Strukturen zu schaffen, die ein Miteinander gemäß den eigenen Werten ermöglichen. Wie der Begriff neu interpretiert und belebt werden kann und welche Möglichkeiten dabei neue Arbeitsformen spielen, ist Inhalt dieser Arbeit.

»Shared responsibility for the Church's mission creates a community of service and calls for trustful cooperation,« states the preamble of the Mitarbeitendenvertretungsgesetz (MVG). The concept of »service community« acts as a connection for Diakonia and Church and stands for critique of hierarchy, community, and a distinct labor law. Today, however, the term has lost much of its relevance. To regain significance, it should be understood less as a demand and more as an encouragement toward employees. Structures must be created that enable collaboration in line with core values. This paper explores how the concept can be reinterpreted, implemented, and how new forms of work may contribute.
