Andy Harris earned a degree in Special Education fromIndiana University/Purdue University-Indianapolis (IUPUI). Hetaught young adults with severe disabilities for several years. Healso taught himself enough computer programming to support histeaching habit with freelance programming.
Those were the exciting days when computers started to have harddrives, and some computers connected to each other with arcaneprotocols. He taught programming in those days because it wasfun.
Eventually, Andy decided to teach computer science full time, andhe still teaches at IUPUI. He lectures in the applied computingprogram and runs the streaming media lab. He also teaches classesin whatever programming language is in demand at the time. He hasdeveloped a large number of online video-based courses andinternational distance education projects.
Andy has written several books on various computing topics andlanguages including Java, C#, mobile computing, JavaScript, andPHP/MySQL.
