A second collection by Alison Hackett (the founder of 21st Century Renaissance) including poems published in the US since 2021. Poems of remembrance, of love, of still-life; language, people, place and religion pepper this second collection which sets out from West Cork and takes in Dublin, India, Germany, Beirut, France and England on the way. On working in partnership with Arnie Yasinski who she also publishes: “Arnie and I seek truth from each other. Both of us have done deep psychoanalytical work and we often tease that we’re tied at the therapy-hip (a joint 10 years between us). As a result, we have a shorthand with each other and an ironclad promise to get rid of the phoney stuff. My question to him, as editor to poet, again and again, is what do you really want to say?” Affectionately known as the 'Dueling Banjo Poets' Alison and Arnie's poems fall naturally into pairs, and they read them thus at launch events, pairs and triplets of poems connected by themes such as fathers, teachers, drink, religion and politics.
