Rajinder M. Gupta studied psychology at the universities ofCambridge and Manchester. He did his professional training as aneducational psychologist at Exeter University and PhD at Aston.Following his training, he worked as an educational psychologistfor nearly two decades. In the last 15 years, he has worked as aChild and Adolescent Psychologist in the clinical psychologydepartments of several NHS trusts in the Midlands and has alsohelped train a number of clinical psychology trainees studying fortheir doctorate programme at Birmingham University. His currentmain area of interest, both from a clinical and academicstandpoint, is the study of families with interactional difficulties with their children and effective and effi cient ways ofhelping them.
Frederika C. Theus is a licensed clinical psychologistand coordinator of the Child and Adolescent Diagnostic and FamilySupport Program for the Family Clinic, Institute on Disability andHuman Development at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Sheprovides evaluations for children with suspected or previouslydiagnosed developmental disabilities as part of a multidisciplinaryteam. Dr Theus also provides therapy and intervention services tochildren, adolescents, and adults with developmental disabilities,including autism and Asperger Syndrome. Dr Theus received a Masterof Arts degree in Learning Disabilities from NorthwesternUniversity, and worked as both a diagnostician and as a LearningDisabilities teacher. She earned her doctorate in psychology fromthe Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr Theus providesworkshops and trainings to parents and professionals on a varietyof topics related to assessment and intervention for individualswith developmental disabilities, including dual diagnosis ofdevelopmental disabilities and mental health disorders, behaviouralintervention, and Asperger Syndrome. She has published on topicsrelated to child development. Dr Theus is a member of theprofessional advisory committee for the Autism Society of Illinoisand the advisory council of the Chicago Southside Autism SupportGroup.
