Über Autor(innen)

Dr. Deepti Gupta is currently a Professor in the Department of Textile and Fibre Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India. She has wide experience of more than 35 years in the field of academia and industry. Her major areas of research include extraction and processing of sustainable fibres from lignocellulosic resources, modification of fibres for enhanced performance, textile-microbe interactions, anthropometry and garment sizing, functional and assistive clothing and product design. She has authored and edited books, contributed several book chapters and published more than 100 research papers in highly reputed journals. She is one of the Founding Chairpersons of the Organising Committee of the Functional Textiles and Clothing Conference (FTC)organised by IIT Delhi since 2018.
Dr. Abhijit Majumdar is the R. Jaikumar Chair Professor for Decision Sciences in Textile and Fibre Engineering Department at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, India. He has over two decades of experience in academia, along with experience in the industry. He has authored textbooks, edited various books, and has published more than 170 research papers in refereed journals. He also serves as the Editor of the Journal of the Textile Institute. He is the recipient of the Eminent Engineers Award (2023) from Institution of Engineers, India (2023); Best Industry Relevant Doctoral and Masters Project Supervision Award, IIT Delhi (2023 and 2019, respectively); Gandhian Young Technology Innovation (GYTI) Award (2016 and 2021); Teaching Excellence Award of IIT Delhi (2015); and Outstanding Young Faculty Fellowship, IIT Delhi (2009-2014). He is the Chairperson of Buildtech sectional committee of Bureau of Indian Standards. He is also one of the Founding Chairpersons of the Scientific Committee of the Functional Textiles and Clothing Conference (FTC) organised by IIT Delhi since 2018.
Dr. Sanjay Gupta is a Professor and Founding Vice Chancellor of the World University of Design, Sonipat, India. He completed B.Tech. in Textile Chemistry with a silver medal from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He has a Ph.D. from the same institute.  He was a UNDP fellow to Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York, and Visiting Professor at École Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Industries Textiles (ENSAIT), France. His research interests include functional clothing design and development of textile products. He has more than a 100 publications and more than 30 presentations in national/international conferences and seminars. He is also one of the Founding Co-Chairs of the Organising Committee of the Functional Textiles and Clothing Conference (FTC) organised by IIT Delhi since 2018.
