TIME IS AN ILLUSION Chris Griscom shares the insights gained by her revolutionary enlightenment techniques. Her remarkable discovery of these energetic techniques, that stimulate ancient Chinese acupuncture points on the body called Windows to the Sky, has led to an accelerated awakening in spiritual healing and emotional balancing. With Ms. Griscom's methods, the accumulated traumas of other lifetimes can be discovered and healed, unblocking the path to the Higher Self-the Divine self. Using fascinating examples from actual multi-incarnational sessions with clients and her own spiritual odyssey, Ms. Griscom teaches readers how to begin a life-changing dialogue with the Higher Self. Understanding how we choose our own roles as victims or victimizers and how we replay them over and over, we learn how to break this vicious cycle and emerge as fully realized beings. Ms. Griscom shows that it is possible to manifest anything we want in life through clear intention -- and how we can transcend even death, the greatest illusion of all. 'Time Is An Illusion' is an invaluable resource for any spiritual seeker who wants to explore the many dimensions within.

FOREWORD: How this Book Originated Dancing in the Light is the book of superstar Shirley MacLaine. Through this book—at its publication a best seller—many spiritually interested people were made aware of a remarkable woman with unusual capabilities: Chris Griscom. It was the same with me. After reading Shirley MacLaine's first spiritually oriented book, Out on a Limb, I got a copy of her newest. In this book, Dancing in the Light, she mentioned that Chris Griscom, with the help of an unusual style of acupuncture, facilitated glimpses into other time-and-space dimensions, and past lives as well, in the process enabling conscious contact with one's “Higher Self.” At this point I was on my way to New Mexico, the “Land of Enchantment,” as it reads on all the license plates. I had the chance to visit for two weeks with Chris, her co-workers at the Light Institute, and her family, in Galisteo, a small town south of Sante Fe. For two weeks in February 1986, I was a “participating observer” during the sessions, in private meetings, during their routine day-to-day life, and during special celebrations. One begins the sessions with an “emotional body balancing.” A spiritual “opening” is accomplished with a combination of precise, gentle touches at specific points. The solar plexus is stimulated to release the astral body and open the auric field. After this opening the client is guided, while still on the massage table, through different childhood states. This contributes to an initial clarification and intentional self-scrutiny, bringing about a state of mind essential for the following sessions, which concentrate on pictures and experiences from other times and spaces. I reexperienced myself as a four- or five-year-old boy, exhilarated, carefree and joyous; thereafter as a ten- to twelve-year-old youth, who had already become more serious and exerting; finally as a sixteen- to eighteen-year-old young adult, who was controlled, disciplined and situated right on the threshold of life. As the session progressed, this reexperiencing allowed me to see how the various vibrations of each time period were relived in almost all body cells. This in itself was very special. After this preparation, there normally follow three past-life sessions, each around three hours in duration. In this respect I was pleased to notice that Chris and her colleagues do not insist on calling the sessions “guidance into past lives.” Every client prefers to label his or her experiences in his or her own way. It is important for the client to determine for himself how the recalls relate to him as they emerge from the self in the form of pictures, feelings and thoughts, and the client can see their relatedness to present life circumstance. The past-life sessions are begun with the same techniques used in the preparatory session. Although one's consciousness of the body gradually becomes dimmer, a light-filled body awareness remains, with Chris's facilitation. The client will be diligendy guided “inward” according to occurrences during the sessions. Throughout the duration of the “journeys,” I clearly felt energy currents in my body. This energy was cleansing and invigorating. I repeatedly had the sensation that my astral body, at a distance of about four to sixteen inches from my body, was worked through with a feather duster, or “brushed off,” so to speak. During the sessions the presence of other beings besides Chris were not only felt but in two cases visible: I saw ordinary faces looking at me. The initial sessions were conducted by Chris's daughter Karin, who is one of the colleagues at the Light Institute. The experiences were noted down so that a permanent record could be kept. A few session extracts should suffice: I experienced myself as a horseman on a war horse, who delighted in visualizing his victories. I saw myself in a spiritually dull state of mind in a tavern circa 1700; afterward as a gooseherder who had found tranquillity and joy through harmony with nature. I recalled myself as a young Indian boy of the wide plains, who spoke with a buffalo—a very intense experience of harmony between nature, animals and man. This Indian boy found himself again along the edge of a forest as an old medicine man, who had become completely distraught over his visions of the vanishing of buffalo herds and the natural way of life for the Indians, and finally the decline of the last harmony between nature and man. The next scenes showed a young woman caring for the wounded on the battlefields of the American Civil War. At a later time she lay as an old woman on her deathbed. To the astonishment of her assembled family she suddenly revived, radiant. She saw a light coming in at a slant from above, guiding her upward and within. This was death as a light-filled experience, without horror. “Up there” the old woman encountered the Indian medicine man and the buffalo. Both persons fused into each other. At this same time I was struck with an insight: it seemed as if the medicine man purposely returned as the helpful woman to play a part in relieving the suffering he had already foreseen as a medicine man. Another death experience: I saw and felt myself lying “dead” on the ground in a basin. One after another appeared a buffalo, a bear, eagle, coyote. The buffalo nudged me with his nose and said, “Wake up, little brother.” At that point I “awoke” and as an iridescent form, raised myself. Whether or not these incidents were past lives isn't really pertinent. Much more significant is the direct, firsthand experiencing that penetrated through every cell in my body and that even now remains recallable, relivable. Perhaps also of interest is that I later experienced a significant corroboration of some pictures from the sessions. At the Indian Market at Santa Fe I found a small ornamental heart surrounded with a ring of feathers, exacdy as I had already seen with my mind's eye in the session. On a visit to a bookstore, an animal collection revealed itself as the totem animals of Indian astrology. At home in Munich lay a two-year-old psychographic drawing from Carol Polge of England, depicting the exact face of the woman who had cared for the wounded. After a detailed initial interview to ascertain and identify emotional and spiritual themes, Chris began with the acupuncture. She stuck fine gold acupuncture needles into strategic spiritual points. These points, called “windows to the sky,” are not the usual acupuncture points. Chris explained that as the sessions proceeded, completely new levels of energy would be opened up. This allows a conscious experiencing of other dimensions, times and spaces through one's emotions, reason, brain and higher self. The sources of problems become clear. There is a catalyzing effect between insights and solutions. Along with the surfacing of events out of past lives appear glimpses of their connections to future events or messages, similar to the results of “channeling” phenomena. I noticed some external phenomena at this state of our work. I felt, long after Chris had ended her session, as though the acupuncture needles were still intact. She explained that a spiritual helper, a Chinese doctor, was helping her and had set “astral needles” in the astral body. During these sessions the energy currents appeared again in my body, manifesting as a sudden vibration of my limbs and leaving, as before, cleansing and invigorating effects. Although my Higher Self repeatedly showed itself as an iridescent form in the preparatory session, I perceived it now in many other aspects: as an eagle, snake, a red stone column with a yellow corona, as a female being clothed in blue, as a royal couple. Very frequently the melting together of two aspects occurred, which were like “yin” and “yang,” or masculine-feminine opponents. The most moving of these recalls was the scenery around a pyramid under construction. At that time the pyramids served as energy structures, which took in light energy from above and passed it along. I saw how a Pharaoh stepped into a light-filled space ship on the tip of the pyramid, melded with it and disappeared. I saw light spirals become activated in myself so that I could leave the body. I saw how I had been admitted into light-cities of the hereafter, and much more. These experiences have little importance to me as something titillating or sensational. On the contrary, as the sessions progressed, so came the deep conviction that much creative strength slumbers in everyone. I realized that every individual has the chance to effectively search for the purpose of life and to realize certainty in his life. My two weeks spent at the Light Institute in Galisteo with Chris and Karin Griscom resulted in a new oudook on life and a more conscious connection to an immense source of inner strength on many levels and in different dimensions, simultaneously. I realized that when one has power or is associated with power, one's motivation is decisive. One doesn't want to become pulled into power abuse or into a dangerous application of power, be it even very subtly. Finally one must question: Who experiences? Regardless of how fantastic the experiences may be, this fundamental question remains. The sage Ramana Maharshi said, “The true self is continuous and unchangeable. The reincarnating ego belongs to a lower level, mainly the world of thought. It will be transcended through self-realization.” In this light I saw...
