Chapter 1
She appeared so peaceful and beautiful lying on my bed sleeping, he thought as he glanced down at her with a jubilant smile. Candice had been with him now for two months. That was the longest time he had ever remained with one of his women. He knew she was different the very first time he laid eyes on her. Now he could actually feel her falling in love with him. His mind wandered back to the decadent lovemaking sessions they’d had over the last month.
At that very moment, her eyes fluttered open as she smiled and looked into his eyes. He returned her smile with exuberance in his heart. His smile faded as hers turned to dread and alarm. He became very agitated at the fear and trepidation expressed within her eyes. He actually thought that after the two months they’d spent making love, she would look at him differently—but now he knew exactly what he had to do.
He quickly shed his clothes as he watched her struggle against the four-point restraints holding her to the bed. He’d assumed she would look forward to their lovemaking, but he was sadly mistaken. He pulled the blanket from her naked body, grabbed the lube, and began to spread it onto his shaft. He knew he had to use it because his women never got wet for him, nor did they have orgasms, no matter how much foreplay he performed on them. He just stopped trying. He mounted and penetrated her with one hard, powerful plunge. She screamed out in pain, shock, and disgust.
She looked into his eyes and screamed, “I can’t take this anymore! Just kill me, please!”
“As you wish.”
He thrust into her faster and faster until he felt his orgasm just within reach. He looked down into her eyes, which were running over with tears, placed his large hands around her neck, and squeezed. He smiled as she gagged and coughed for air. As he felt her soul escape from her body, he released his semen into her womb, realizing that was the best orgasm of his life. As his breathing and heart rate returned to its normal rhythm, he looked down at the dead body. He would have to expedite his search for his next woman.

When Erik woke up this morning, he would have never anticipated being on a plane with his team of four en route to Detroit. Although Detroit was known for its large number of homicides each year, there was now a serial killer loose in the city who was raping and torturing his victims. As an FBI agent, Erik had been all over the United States apprehending serial killers, but he’d never been to Detroit. Usually after a killer murdered more than three people, they were considered a serial killer and the FBI would be notified. However, this murderer had already killed five women. The current team working on the ‘Jack the Rapist’ case, as this killer had been dubbed by the local news, had no leads.
“Hey, Erik, can you look a little more enthusiastic about finally visiting Motor City?” Luke asked, pulling him out of his thoughts. Luke and Erik had been best friends since college. They’d also started at Quantico together. Erik was the best man at Luke’s wedding, even though he insisted that Luke was marrying the wrong woman. Just as Erik predicted, they were divorced after only six months.
“I am very excited to finally visit Detroit but I detest that it is under such devastating circumstances. We always agreed to visit Charles and Allen, but it’s never good when we are coming in to take over a case,” Erik said.
“How are Charles and Allen?” Luke asked.
Charles, Allen, Luke, and Erik had met in college over fifteen years ago. They quickly became best friends. They all went to church, but Charles and Allen were more involved. They were the preachers of the group, while Luke and Erik were happy just sitting in the pews, laughing and joking about the clothes and hats women wore to church. Their parents were Christians and the four had promised to attend church on Sundays while away at school. After college, Luke and Erik decided they would join the FBI and move to D.C. Charles and Allen moved to Detroit with dreams of helping clean up the city. Charles Griffin became the mayor, while Allen McNeal became the police chief.
“I spoke to Charles yesterday. He was excited we were the team assigned to the case. He even invited us to church this Sunday,” Erik replied.
“Just like old times! He was always trying to get us to repent. Remember that time we all went out on a group date? He was so distraught that I took my date to my house and we had sex all night long! The next day, he told me I was going to hell.” They both laughed. “I’m glad he finally got married or he would have been a virgin for the rest of his life.” They laughed again but this time so hard, tears began to run down their faces.
Charles Griffin had been raised in a very strict Christian home. He was always preaching about righteousness, grace and mercy, along with hell and damnation. The group consistently tormented Charles with Christian jokes, but that never came between them. He remained faithful and true to Christianity no matter how much they teased him. He was a virgin until he married to his wife Rochelle eight years ago. Erik heard about what a great job he was doing as mayor of Detroit. Charles cared for the less fortunate and had done an excellent job cleaning up the streets of Detroit, including finding shelter for the homeless.
Allen McNeal, on the other hand, was raised in a less-strict Christian home. That’s why Allen and Charles got along better, while Luke and Erik had a closer relationship. They called themselves the four musketeers and they had remained in contact over the years. Allen was the best police chief that Detroit had ever had. The murder rate decreased by 20 percent since he’d been in office. Erik had heard Allen was the one who requested their team for this case.
“I have obtained all five police reports on the victims of Jack the Rapist. He usually detains his victims for a month, but he kept the last girl for over two months. His last victim, Candice, appears to have been strangled while he raped her and the coroner’s report states she was five weeks pregnant at the time of her death. They were able to collect DNA from the fetus, but there is not a match in any of our databases, so our killer does not have a record. The others were strangled and beaten, but not during sex. He severely beat the other four victims; two even had broken bones. He must’ve had a bond with Candice because she had no broken bones and was not beaten as badly as the others. She did have some bruises that were about a month old, indicating he did not beat her during the last month of her life. Maybe he knew she was pregnant with his child or, as I mentioned before, he may have just had a connection with her,” Alice said, looking up from her laptop.
Alice was part of his team but she was more technical than a field agent. She could locate a needle in a haystack. She also had a crush on Erik. One night when they went out to celebrate putting another serial killer behind bars, Alice had told him she wanted to become more then friends. Erik had dated a co-worker in the past and when it ended, the whole team was disbanded. Erik refused to ever date another co-worker, so he let her down easy. He couldn’t afford to lose another powerful team. Alice took it well and they remained friends.
Jeffrey, the last member to join the team, was the quiet one. He’d obtained a degree in psychology and criminology, and he was very useful in developing profiles. Together, they’d had a 100 percent conviction rate throughout the last five years.
“Candice was taken one week after the last victim’s body was found, so we have less than seven days to put together a profile and catch this guy before he chooses his next victim,” Jeffrey said.
Erik frowned. That was the last thing he needed, a time limit. He believed this guy was escalating and even suspected this murderer was going to choose his next victim much sooner than seven days.

Isabella sat in her office listening to her best friend and co-worker, Monica, replay her experience at church. Every Monday, she reported a new testimony and of course invited Isabella to attend. Isabella was tired of coming up with excuses as to why she couldn’t go to church.
“Oh my God, Izzy! Church was off the hook! You really should come! I want you to meet Chantal. She’s a prophetess, just like you. You have always been able to predict the future through dreams and visions. God is going to use you to catch this murdering rapist,” she said before pausing slightly. “You know, by the way, the news is now calling him ‘Jack the Rapist.’ You should go down to the police station and tell them everything. If they utilize psychics, they will definitely use a prophetess.”
Isabella just stared at her friend. She’d had another dream last night. He’d killed another one of his women, as he referred to them. Isabella did not need a dream interpreter to tell her what her dreams meant, but she did need to tell the police what she saw. They only reported five women; however, she saw ten murdered. Isabella saw where he’d hidden the five bodies that the police knew nothing about. So many women were dead, but she still wasn’t sure what her next move should be. Isabella said a silent prayer for the families of the victims then she decided to ask God to...
