Ayat F. Hashim, Ph.D.

Dr. Ayat F. Hashim is currently working as a Researcher at the Fats and Oils National Research Centre, Food Industries and Nutrition Institute, National Research Centre. She has been working on Nano Lipid Carriers and Polymer Nanocomposites as Effective Nutraceuticals Delivery Vehicles. She has published 36 articles and 12 book chapters in Elsevier and Springer Nature. Also, she has one Book Project entitled: Biopolymeric Nanoparticles for Agricultural Applications that has been formally accepted for publication and may be published in Springer’s “Nanotechnology in the Life Sciences”. She traveled to Londrina the State University of Londrina, Brazil, Department of Food Science & Technology where she engaged in a short training project in 2019 relevant to the preparation of edible coating film using natural biopolymers. Two years before that, she also traveled to the University of Wroclaw, Poland for another short-term training program in the field of nanoencapsulation of nutraceutical oils for functional food applications. She is a principal investigator for the project funded by the National Research Centre (NRC), Egypt (2023) entitled “Novel SMART Nanofibers as Visual Color Sensors for Edible Oil Deterioration”. Also, she was the principal investigator for project number F/5853 funded by the International Foundation for Science (IFS), Sweden (2016). She is interested in the synthesis of nanomaterials, especially functional nanoemulsion, encapsulation, characterization, green synthesis, characterization, and application in pharmaceuticals, food, and agriculture.

Expert in Electrochemistry, Fuel cells, Solar cells, Corrosion protection, Smart Coating, bio-implants, nano-composites, environmental studies, bio nanotechnology.

Farah K. Ahmed

Graduated from Biotechnology Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University and currently a Master student at Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Nanotechnology Postgraduate, Cairo University. Master Internship Faculty of Nanotechnology Postgraduate, Cairo University and Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute. Working on a scientific project, abiotic stress (salinity) on different strains of rice by using molecular methods at the Agricultural Genetic Engineering Research Institute [23/05/2023 – Current]. She has published 4 review articles and 15 book chapters in Elsevier and Springer Nature. Also, she has one Book project entitled: Biopolymeric Nanoparticles for Agricultural Applications has been formally accepted for publication and may be published in Springer’s “Nanotechnology in the Life Sciences.”

Sabu Thomas, PhD.

Prof. Sabu Thomas, former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, is now a full-time professor of Polymer Science and Engineering at the School of Chemical Sciences of Mahatma Gandhi University. He is the Founder Director and Professor of the International and Interuniversity Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Thomas is a leading figure in the field of nanoscience, polymer science, and engineering, with a focus on polymer nanocomposites, elastomers, polymer blends, interpenetrating polymer networks, polymer membranes, green composites, nanomedicine, and green nanotechnology. His groundbreaking inventions have significantly impacted the development of new materials for automotive, space, housing, and biomedical fields. Thomas has received numerous international awards, including the Fellowship of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Distinguished Professorship from Jozef Stefan Institute, and the National Education Leadership Award for Excellence in Education. He has published over 1400 peer-reviewed research papers, co-edited 220 books, and is the inventor of 15 patents.
