Carl Davila, Ph.D. (2006), Yale University, is Associate Professor of History at the College at Brockport, S.U.N.Y. He has published several articles on the Moroccan Andalusian music, as well as a monograph Al-Ala: History, Society and Text (Reichert, 2013).
