Alfredo Rodríguez López-Vázquez is currently engaged in a re-evaluation of the work of the 17th-century actor-dramatist Andrés de Claramonte. In this volume he edits MS. R. 169 of the Biblioteca Nacional, Madrid, which has manuscript additions in the hand of Claramonte. The introduction deals with themes, dramatic structure, characterisation, staging and poetic style. Variants are given at the foot of the page and explanatory notes follow the text.
