John Bodel is Professor of Classics and History at BrownUniversity. He writes about Roman social and cultural history,Latin epigraphy, and Latin literature of the Empire. Saul M. Olyan is Samuel Ungerleider Jr. Professor ofJudaic Studies and Professor of Religious Studies, BrownUniversity.
