1. Why did you choose this topic?
Living together in the experience of being different is a topic that everyone is confronted with every day. The notion of religious plurality is a crucial aspect in this context but has not been addressed properly until now. We were interested in multiple perspectives on these everyday life experiences on a micro level and, most importantly, on the links and influences between different facets of living together under the notion of religious plurality.
2. What new perspectives does your book offer?
We provide an interdisciplinary approach. The volume offers insights into dynamics of living together that were gained in empirical research projects as well as theoretical considerations on topics related to dynamics of living together. The compilation of perspectives under the umbrella of conviviality as heuristic approach and praxeological concept enhances the intertwined and complex dynamics of sociality and living together.
3. What makes your topic relevant for current research debates?
This volume contributes to conviviality research and provides valuable insights for further research in the fields of theology, religious studies, and sociology. The explorations in this volume enhance research on conviviality as complex and vibrant field of research that needs further attention. The volume is part of the SNSF funded research project 'Conviviality in Motion. Exploring Practices and Theologies in Multiethnic Christian Communities in Europe' (2020-2024, University of Basel).
